GRAND RAPIDS, MI – October 2, 2026 – BAM Innovations LLC has been awarded a purchase order to design and build a custom lithium-ion battery pack and charging solution for a marine equipment manufacturer.
The pack is a compact, tube-format 21700 lithium-ion assembly engineered to fit inside the customer's existing product envelope. It integrates cell-level protection, a BAM-designed power distribution board with charge-path isolation and overcurrent protection, and a sealed external charge port, delivered with a matched charger and adapter cable. The program covers electrical and mechanical design, prototype build, and functional test ahead of a production release.
"This program is a good example of the work we are set up for: a customer with a defined product envelope and a power requirement that no off-the-shelf pack meets," said Blake Middleton of BAM Innovations. "We handle the cell selection, protection, distribution board, mechanical integration and test as one package, so the customer gets a pack built for their product rather than a product built around a pack."
The battery pack and charging accessories will be designed and built at BAM Innovations' Michigan facility, using in-house capabilities in battery pack assembly, custom PCB design, cable assembly, and functional testing.
